In 2012 the tech startup industry *almost* went mainstream! As we become more reliant on the 'interweb' technologies to do business, be social and get stuff done, more erstwhile (and savvy) entrepreneurs are leveraging technology (software, devices) to solve real-world problems. In this roundup of 2012 startups (yes we know it's a tiny bit early) there's quite a trend towards mobile and Facebook commerce. Whether you want to sell products by Facebook comments like Soldsie or shout your friend a beer with a tweet like Pygg, or buy a new dress in a fashion mag simply with your smartphone like BuyReply or use Pickie to curate your own personal shopping magazine, 'social commerce' on-the-go looks set to become the future.
Design Trends
Every business needs a logo, even one that is just starting up. This roundup is all about showing you current trends in logos for startup businesses, primarily for the tech startups. A lot of the logos are workmarks, with the rest being accompanied by an abstract logo. There are a some with a mascot logo, but web 2.0 style wordmark logos in round serif fonts are popular. We've categorised the logos into "Best", "Good" and "Average" :(. Take a look for yourself and tell us which one you think stands out from the crowd, or just fades into the background in the comments below!
