It's been a year since we reviewed and rated 20 Top UK startup logos from 2012 on the DesignCrowd blog so we thought we'd take another look at UK startup branding for 2013. New entrants that caught our eye for their design style include product design marketplace Milkster and personal delivery service Shutl. The odd favorite last year make the grade again like concert and band tracker Songkick.
Design Appraisal:
- This year we saw more clean, flat or minimal styles (think opinion network State.
- Usage of either black and white/grayscale or bright, vibrant colors - PixelPin and Droplet.
- Very simple shape-structures such as circles, squares, lines, curves to convey brand personality - YPlan and Babelverse.
