When the Supreme Court of the United States made history by legalizing gay marriage across all states of the US. While still contended by many opponents of the bill, the decision has huge implications for countless American couples and families.
Celebrations soon broke out all across the world, and many companies and brands joined in enthusiastically. Before we knew it, Facebook users found themselves in a sea of rainbow profile pictures, Starbucks was waving the pride flag, and even the White House briefly became rainbow-colored.
We at DesignCrowd couldn't be more pleased to jump in on the celebration of so worthy a cause. The fact that support was expressed primarily through beautiful images and revved up logo and packaging designs only sweetens the deal for us design nerds. Here we've selected some of our favorite brand designs in support of the SCOTUS ruling, as well as a few beautiful DesignCrowd designs for companies that wear a rainbow all year round. Enjoy!
Hillary Clinton
Support from sources like Facebook and Co. are wonderful, but don't mean nearly as much as that of actual high-ranking politicians, especially ones who are in the running for President of the United States. Ms. Clinton's logo has previously gone through many iterations, supporting regional and national causes. This has to be one of our favorites.
Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola is currently the world's 4th most valuable brand, and certainly is among the top runners for most recogizable brands as well. The support from such a giant is heartening.
360 Lighting
This rainbow may not have appeared as a result of the SCOTUS ruling, but it's still gorgeously rendered by our very own Virtuallies.
Twitter
We love the mosaic effect Twitter used in its celebration of love. Looks stunning.
AT&T
One world, one love. AT&T was lucky with its original logo for this one; the message it sends as a rainbow logo is perfect.
Bonbon Cafe
Another logo from our own ranks, this cafe is rocking a rainbow of colors all year round.
Ben and Jerry's
The rainbow is only barely visible, but the re-naming on Ben and Jerry's favorite flavor, plus the gorgeous illustration, make this packaging design a sure winner in our books.
Snickers
Contrary to Ben and Jerry's, Snickers dived right into the rainbow fun and had its chocolate wrapped in it from top to bottom. Looks amazing!
Volunteer San Francisco
This t-shirt design crowdsourced on DesignCrowd is sure to inspire some kind souls to volunteer their time, and at the same time warms our hearts.
Chobani
Yoghurt Mogul Chobani managaes to not only render a stunning rainbow image in support of gay marriage, they also do it with fresh fruit – keeping right on brand message. That's our kind of corporate support.
