It's pretty obvious that if you want to be a global force in any industry, you need to be instantly recognizable the world over, and be able to illustrate your message clearly.

So whether you're just starting out in the business world, or feeling pretty established, it's still always a good move to look at how the big money makers present themselves.

Having previously showcased the logos of the richest brands in the world, according to Forbes, here are the designs for the most powerful brands, according to Brand Finance's annual rankings.

The valuation and strategy consultancy evaluated companies on key business markers including familiarity, loyalty, promotion, marketing investment, staff satisfaction, and corporate reputation - all things that should be prominent in any business.

Each brand was awarded a score out of 100, with Disney pipping Lego to top spot. The Top Ten was dominate by retail, media, and financial companies, and featured predominantly logo type designs. Only Nike (ranked sixth) had a full logomark to represent its brand.
