400 alternative Uber logos

However big, popular, or successful a company is, revamping the creative elements can be a risky business.

There are a lot of considerations around when is the right time to rebrand, and as the final redesigns go live, companies may have to prepare for a backlash.

It's a lesson international ride share app Uber has recently experienced after launching its new logo and style guide.

The derisory comments ranged from people questioning the relevance of 'the bit' and 'the atom' references to others complaining of not being able to find the app on their phone because of the updated design.

The logo bears very little resemblance to the brand and has left a lot of people more than a little confused.

What's more, it has been reported Uber CEO Travis Kalanick personally helped to design the logo, and chose not to work alongside a brand agency.
